Professional Background

I am an integrative counsellor, psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and mental health consultant with experience across private practice, Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs), corporate mental health, crisis response, and clinical leadership.

Over the course of my career, I have worked with people experiencing anxiety, burnout, trauma, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, depression, crisis, and longstanding psychological struggles. My work includes both longer term psychotherapy and brief intervention approaches, including extensive experience delivering Single Session Therapy within high demand and high risk settings.

Alongside clinical practice, I have held senior leadership positions including Clinical Team Lead, Senior Clinical Manager, and Clinical Director. These roles involved overseeing clinical teams, supporting therapist development, managing complex risk, contributing to service design, and helping organisations respond to psychological and operational challenges in fast paced environments.

My experience also extends into crisis intervention and trauma response work alongside blue light and emergency services. This has included suicide risk assessment, de-escalation, critical incident response, and supporting both individuals and organisations following traumatic events. Working in these environments has shaped the way I approach therapy and leadership: calm under pressure, psychologically informed, relational, and grounded in practical reality rather than theory alone.

Alongside therapy and supervision, I regularly deliver training, workshops, and consultancy across corporate, healthcare, public sector, and international settings. Areas of focus include workplace mental health, psychological safety, trauma informed practice, leadership under pressure, burnout, crisis response, and suicide risk.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, relational, and trauma informed. Rather than working rigidly from one model, I draw from different psychological approaches depending on the person and the context. My work is informed by relational psychotherapy, attachment theory, trauma research, emotional regulation, and contemporary understandings of the nervous system.

I hold an MSc in Psychology and a BSc (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, alongside continued professional development in trauma, crisis work, leadership, supervision, and coaching.

My background includes military service prior to entering psychology and psychotherapy. That experience continues to influence the way I approach difficult situations, leadership, crisis work, and responsibility within clinical practice.

Over time, my work across therapy rooms, crisis settings, and organisational environments has reinforced something simple: people are often carrying far more than others (and sometimes themselves) realise. I value honesty, psychological depth, and conversations that feel real rather than overly clinical or scripted. Whether the work is brief or long term, I aim to offer a space where people can think clearly, speak openly, and make sense of difficult experiences without being reduced to a diagnosis or label.
